Elementary
When I was young
School was easier
But I never realized it
When two paragraphs was too long
And math was only numbers
Back then
Phones were contraband
And everything was on paper
When MCAS was new
And there were no long essays due tomorrow
Nothing hanging over my head
When I would need to wait in the car rider line
If I was ever going somewhere after school
Back then everything was simpler
Back then everything was easier
But I never realized it
