A Clergyman’s Resignation
While my faith hath not dwindled,
And yonder sun hath not set,
I cannot resume my duties as a Father of the church.
The vision hath dawned on me, one of the horizon, shining.
And to this I drank
To this I sang and danced
And because of this I am a sinner,
And because of this, I cannot ask for forgiveness
As it remains, I could not stand with the ideology of the church
And it is because of our lord.
If not to be put here, on this land between the heavens, for jubilation, then why?
If the church cannot allow for joy, for glee, then does it not contradict our God Himself?
And so, yes.
While my faith, stays, that in the Lord, I live fulfilled
And while the sun, hath not set until I yield my last breath, stays shining beyond the white clouds,
I cannot resume my duties as a father of the church
Because I can no longer be a father to our church.

Growing up around a religious family, I asked a lot of questions which led me to thoughts like, “why can’t I dance?”. And usually I was answered with relative nonsense. So, I wrote this in inspiration of how churches stretch religion, and how it affects everyone.
