What was I hoping for?

When I pushed you away


Why would I?

I have no reason to lie


Otherwise,

I wouldn't have cried,

crumbled,

drowned into a blur,

barely breathing out words


While,

believing I had died

because I lamented my own pain

maybe I was hoping you would stay
