Wise Girl
Looking through gray eyes
Dreams as big as the sky spelled out in star signs
Why
Does it always end in misery?
Let me go down in history as the girl who built up bricks and people like architecture
And will be remembered for her victories
When I lecture to my peers
I hope they hear a wise girl with a mind of gold and love
Not someone to revolt against so they can rise above
I’ve been holding the weight of the sky for so long
Let me drift away into the cove with their siren song
Is it so wrong to want tranquility?
I’ve been told I have equanimity and that you’re my liability
Felicity, peace
Falling deep into the abyss as I reminisce on all the times you saved me from myself
I place the offering of my celestial creator on the shelf behind my bedpost
Never again will I be invisible or predictable
I will turn the life I’ve been granted into a miracle
