Holiday Blues
In the shopping malls, the same old Christmas tunes play over and over.
You know, the ones that made you feel warm and fuzzy as a child.
Walking around, finding the best ornaments to put up on the tree.
Excited to put oatmeal out for Santa’s reindeers.
Excited for the presents under the tree.
Excited to just spend time sitting around with your family.
But those days have since past,
And the holidays don’t feel the same anymore.
No more Santa’s cookies and milk for me.
Holiday movies have been replaced with homework.
Making up for what you couldn't do before break.
The holidays are no longer like what they used to be.
But should I feel something more?
