The Tide
Tides may come and go,
but the shoreline will always erode
It will draw closer and closer
to the things we love and know
Tides may come and go
Tides may crash against hard stone
and as long as they prevail,
the shoreline will always grow
But just like entropy,
things will always rush back to the sea:
our hopes, our dreams, our fantasies -
asking us to hush our pleas
The tide takes and gives
Offers little trinkets and small beads
It gives things to grow, tiny seeds,
sowing opportunities
Some seeds grow in sand
Grow into niches and little bands
To grow, they require your care –
protection from the waves they bear
