An alphabet is like a mother
That bestows life to your feelings.
It’s like a father

That teaches you to lead a beautiful life.
It’s the enlightenment
In the world of darkness called ignorance.
It paves the way and makes you walk ahead.
It contours the ardour of your heart
It’s the only way in this world

That let’s you know the meaning of any expression
And give wings to your thoughts and dreams.

It’s the only thing

that shapes the history and culture to breathe.

It’s the one

That shows the essence and elegance of literature.
It’s the only unswerving and constant thing
That masters the life of a human.
It’s the strength in the heart
That comes from the mouth
When salty streams gush down from your eyes.

But unfortunately
This mother, This father
This enlightenment and This strength
Is not with everybody
Though it’s a necessity.

So, let us provide this weapon of literacy to everybody

By educating them
To bring out their lost feelings
Which remained invisible because of illiteracy
To eradicate the dangers of poverty
That they are facing because of illiteracy
Let us all spread a word of awareness
To see everybody in this world to be literate
To let them live their lives in the light
And let them spread their wings to fly high!
