Sad old cat
Rich was the man who gave me a home and who treated me kindly like one of his own
But then winter came down with the crash, poor was that man lonely and sad
Now we huddle up to feel cozy and warm
Watching people pass by, man's clothes withern and torn
Thou life is my window thou life is my house
The highways, the sidewalks, and even the mouse
A mouse is my food the garbage is his
Together we own all that there is
The world is my window through his eyes I see
Poor is the man who cherishes me
Thou life is not lavished with riches and food
Its lavished with care and companionship too
Though rich is the man who took me in
Poor is the man who keeps me as his.
