“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

my friend was born in the wrong decade, you see

he acts, talks, and thinks like a french revolutionary

well, he doesn’t speak french,

and he doesn’t wear funny clothes

but my friend acts like Robespierre

in nearly all of his affairs

his weapon of choice is the guillotine - in his art projects

his solution to all problems is killing the nobles - in his stories

he too cares about liberty, equality, and fraternity

liberty of students from the confinement of schools

equality of wifi access in our school’s classrooms

fraternity between him and our history teacher

my friend was just fine in this decade until he

stormed Queen Elizabeth's castle

mistaking her for Marie Antoinette -

i tried to warn him, stop him, I tried to save

him, but revolutionaries rest in the grave
