False Hope
They say we’re like a broken record
Playing the same sad song
I’m not sure if that's true
But the same feeling has been there
All along
It’s like I am a puppy
Waiting for you to come home
I whine at the door
And you never show
It’s like praying for sun
On a cloud covered day
Except the rain never clears
And you never stay
It’s like watering my flowers
To try to keep them alive
But I fail to notice
They already died
It’s like that warm feeling
Waking up on Christmas day
But I’m not a kid anymore
And I moved away
You are like the drop in my stomach
When the truth comes to light
I will always miss you
But that feeling was always right
