Forbidden Love
Do you see the stars?
Can you see how bright it shines; how their looking down at us?
I wonder if they’re watching. Judging us, are aspects, dreams, fears- the way we treat people.
Do you judge me?
For simply being myself?
Now, I never wanted to keep this secret from you.
But I felt as if I had to shield myself for my own sanity.
If you only knew the fear that has crept upon me, but you can’t. Because it lives within me.
And I know if you had the opportunity, you would change me.
Because…
I never thought loving another human, other than the one you pictured for me.
Would ever make me unlovable in your eyes, ( am I really that disposal?)
But here I am, living a lie.
But I can’t help the way I feel.
Her eyes do shine as bright as the stars, but I know this star will never judge me
The happiness she has given me, is something you can never take away.
So here I stand alone asking you one last question
Will you ever except me?

This poem means a lot to me. Because it tells the story about my parents not accepting my sexuality.
