Console, conceal, repeat
Piles for miles
Just issues on file
Just more and more
Everyday
Just more
Just hustle and hustle
Even when you’re tired
No stop no rest
Just other people’s problems
Stacks upon stacks of things
He said
She said
They say
I hate
It’s just a pattern
Repetitive and exhausting
Like pulling everyone’s weight
But then one day you act odd
Isn’t when they come running
The one day you share sh*t
Is when they are gunning
For your house
Because you’re going to die
And not the way you should
But trust me
It’s fine
I’ll just put up my hood
And deal with everything else
Even though soon there won’t be any you left
And when the sirens sound they care the most
Because what has happened to their wonderful host
But now she is silent
A spirit a ghost
Waiting for a plea a cry
To let her know why
Why she never had people
To talk to
Or cry
Because everyday she had pliers
At the fingernails they pry
Her worth
Her time
Her money
Her health
Are all on standby
But watch as they cry
And they cry
And cry
Knowing they could’ve done something
Anything
And would’ve
But guess what
She died
