Peace Outdoors
The gentle rustling of trees,
and wind in my face
That solemn feeling in the air surrounds me.
There's a sunset in the leaves,
Once an ocean of green
There is beauty in all that’s around me.
My mind is never clear
As when I’m watching a sunset
Beautiful pastel colors staining the once white clouds,
It’s hard to believe what I see is reality.
I hear no more birds,
All the chirping has gone silent
What remains is the wind,
Blowing every which way.
I see no more sun
All that’s left is the moon,
Beauty and peace is all that's around me.

I wrote this poem while sitting on a bench in my neighborhood, and I feel as if the result is very raw as I was really just writing everything that came to my mind as it did. I hope that my work can be enjoyed by someone else as much as I enjoyed writing it.
