So Beautiful
In April 2022, My family went to Hawaii for a trip. My set piece is about going into nature and really realizing how beautiful it is. It is also about how everyone takes nature for granted and never appreciates its beauty. Throughout my piece I repeat the fact that nature is ‘So Beautiful’ and also put light to the beauty of nature. The literary device is Epistrophe, which is a repeating word or phrase that I incorporate into sentences of the story. In this case it is “So beautiful” and “the beauty”. What I enjoy most about my piece is the way I use words to describe the beauty of nature and how important it is.
Birds tweeting, water rushing, insects chirping, rain drops hitting the ground, So beautiful. A small clearing in the forest. So simple isn’t it? Such a simple thing in our lives is so important to ecosystems and organisms. So beautiful. Such a minor thing people take for granted that is so important. Something in our everyday lives that we never notice. So beautiful.
The sand rushing between my toes. The sun is setting slowly on the horizon. So beautiful. Cloudless sky and colors clashing. Fluffy pink, purple, and orange clouds riddle the sky. So beautiful. So picturesque it looks as if a painter painted the very sky. Colors unseen before and discovered on such a simple evening, so beautiful. Something some people see everyday. For others it is the view of a lifetime. For some one of the very many times they will see it. For others the very last time.
Like every single small function in a huge algorithm of code, all organisms big or small play a part in the beauty we have been given. The beauty we have earned. The beauty that we have honored and cared for. But also the beauty we are slowly destroying. The trees we cut down. The air we pollute. The coral reefs that we kill. We need to protect beauty. To care for it. To keep it beautiful.

This piece is about me having a realization about how important and beautiful nature is. I also realized that nature is not being cared for as much as it should have.
