I feel them in my ducts.
I feel them in my throat.
Trying to claw their way out to where everyone can see.
"Conceal don't feel"
A philosophy I follow everyday.
Hide your feelings don't let them know.
Don't let them in.
Don't let them see you cry.
Don't let them see they hurt you.
Hide.
Hide.
Hide.
Hide your face.
Hide your heart.
Hide your soul.
They are thieves and bullies.
Don't let them know.
The tears.
They form in my eyes like it's natural.
They want to be seen.
They want the attention I get daily.
They want the friends I have.
They want the family I love so dearly.
These temporary drops of water falling from my face.
They want the life I live.
I scream.
"Conceal don't feel".
"Don't let them in"
"Don't let them out"
Hide from the scary people.
With their pickaxes and torches.
They chase me.
Chase me back to my comfort zone.
My safe place.
My heaven, my safe haven.
A space I know all too well.
Everyone is scary.
Reality is scary.
Life is scary.
The world is scary.
No more tears.
Hold in the screams.
No more tears.
Hold in the fear.
No more tears.
