The Sacrifice
Hard work is supposed to payoff
But, there's a breaking point
Failure. Anguish. Deprived.
Stuck-
Quit. Quit. Quit.
But you can't do it.
All those hours.
The sacrifices made.
For what?
What's the reward?
A ribbon?
A medal?
A piece of paper that says you did a good job?
There's a fire.
In your soul.
That pushes. Pushes.
To keep going.
To show up day after day,
month after month.
What starts to feel like
Century after century.
Quit, Quit, Quit.
You keep going.
For that one minute of fame
It is all worth it
But, is it?
Hard Work is supposed to pay off.
Right?
