I love you Scart
A river
rushes beneath me
as if it was free.
Bars of the bridge,
the cold and hot metal
slips
under
my fingers.
Air flows into my nose
as I find the doors I close.
One deep breath…
I climb.
Climb as the scarlet secrets,
the ones I fear most,
scatter up
in
my
thoughts.
The scarlet questions
that haunted me
fill the air.
Another breath…
The river flows
and when I look down,
flakes of white
enter my vision from the right.
The first snow…
A chuckle escapes my smiles.
Time flies.
My feet tremble.
I am only wearing short and a shirt
and the inevitable future weighing on my shoulders.
My vision turns scarlet.
Scarlet.
A color that lives with me.
I wake to see scarlet joys.
Scarlet in my house.
Scarlet in my toys.
And scarlet in that blouse.
Scarlet in the owner of that blouse.
My love.
Scarlet in that god awful hospital
Where I received a letter
With a flat line.
______________
Sincerely, Scarlet.
Scarlet.
Scarlet.
Scarlet.
Another deep breath.
I found myself
In Scarlet.
Warmth blooms in my chest.
I found myself
in scarlet.
Cold rushes around me.
I smile.
I smile.
I love you, Scarlet.
I close my eyes,
And the scarlet fades
Into the darkness.
Goodbye, Scarlet.
Goodbye, scarlet.
