Lights

Music

Fun

Nothing will hurt us

For we are the circus

A whirl

Into a twirl

Like a squirrel

Indeed I am flying

Over ropes

To which I give my nopes

For they do not mope

Because they are on fire

A clown

With a frown

To please the crown

With makeup on his face

He squirts his water

As he teeter totters

On the daughter

Of a friendly volunteer

Balls of three

Fly around he

For he is free

Only when he's juggling

His circle of balls

Will never fall

He even throws a doll

For jugglers can juggle lots

Lights

Music

Fun

Nothing can hurt us

For we are the circus

@Gabadaba it’s not really meant to have a point. It goes through the performance of a trapeze artist (stanzas 2 and 3), a clown (stanzas 3 and 4), and a juggler (stanzas 5 and 6). For me it was just some goofy nonsense about a typical circus act.

Hmmm, I like it but I do not fully understand it. Can you explain the poem please?
