Christmas Time Tears
Christmas,
such a joyful time.
The stockings are hung, the trees are decorated.
The children’s presents are filled.
The streets are lined with glittering, glowing, shimmering, shining colorful lights,
and snow that brightens up the world.
But even with all this happiness, my mind can’t help but wander and wonder.
How has another year slipped past so quickly?
How many kids do not get this smiling experience every year?
And when Christmas day is over,
I lie awake.
Wondering if a time will come when I don’t feel this way,
and when Christmas can feel like Christmas again.
