Crash
The smell of smoke as I watched the grass spin around.
“What the hell!” I heard Givion say as he tussled on the steering wheel, sliding in the black ice. The spinning of the car felt like a rollercoaster I had never been on before without the 1 2 3 go. The car seat pushes into my shoulder as I’m in the middle of the seat trying to hold on without any seat belt. I'm trying with all my strength to push the car seat back and not crush me.
“Slow Down!” I heard Rebecca yell to Givion as he steadily tussled with the wheel trying not to hit anybody. The baby screams and cries as more glass starts to fall onto her and her seat flips upside down, everything blurry to my vision. It was like I was in the clouds because I saw the sky but in a blurry way. The car hit the top of the corner on the highway so loud it was like a big lightning strike, as it bounced off the top corner and spinned.
“Watch out!” I heard Rebbeca yell as we crashed into the top corner of the highway and landed upside down.
January 7, 2015 a normal winter day the roads had been cleared after the bad winter storm it was still slippery and cold.
“Sit down” I heard my bus driver say to a student on the bus as she stopped at my stop. I looked back at the student on the bus and said
“Could you listen to her for once as she gets you home safely” the student yelled “ we all will be just fine the weather isn't that bad”. I got up the aisle and walked down, I heard squeaking noises from others feet as I walked down to get off the bus I said to the bus driver
“I understand how serious and dangerous bad weather can be.. I'm not sure how the rest don't get it.”
“Yes kiddo your a smart one.” said the bus driver.
“ Have a nice day “ I said in a joyful manner. Givion was parked at my stop waiting for me. I walked over to the Range Rover as the engine was running very loud and storming noises outside. He got out and opened the door for me
“Hi Givion” I said to him Givion said
“ What’s up Maya” I got in the car the baby was in the seat smiling at me she looked 1 or 2 her name was Jaylaya. His baby momma Rebecca was in the passenger seat. The car ride was silent. He drove to Mcdonalds to get Jaylaya the food she was yelling
“happy meal”
“Do you want anything Maya?” said Givion I was just ready to get home and wasnt really feeling to hungry.
“Nah im good” I said to Givion. Givion pulled off and started saying
“ im bored”.
“Nothing to do Givion”. Rebecca said.
“Yea ight”. Givion said as he turned the music on max volume and started to drive very fast in the slippery winter weather
“slow the f*ck down” said Rebecca. As he was turning into the Mc Donalds parking lot
“I know what i'm doing” I heard Givion say back to her. Rebecca immediately gave him a side eye look saying
“It doesn't look like you know what your doing”. We got in the mcdonalds line and got Jaylaya a chicken nugget happy meal and a tiny little apple juice shaped like a square. After we got her food we left mcdonalds and he headed to drop me off driving very fast. I was holding on to the baby car seat not even thinking of a seat belt as we were getting on the highway and I noticed he continued with the fast paced driving and I said to Rebecca
“He can't be serious!” she instantly put on her seat belt as we started sliding , and yelled “stop!“.
He kept the fast speed he was going the same as he slid past every car “Why are you driving so crazy with these kids in the car” Rebecca said to him as he started moving the wheel from side to side trying not to hit anyones car as we started to slide more. Givion tried to slow down but it was impossible for him because of how fast he was already going.
“I got it, calm down!” Givion yelled to Rebbeca as loud honking started to come everywhere as I saw a blur in the front window as the car went from left to right . It felt like a blurry mirror as it kept moving
“NO!” I heard Givion scream as we started to slide in the black ice towards the grass. Without being dizzy just a big blurry as I heard loud BOOM! and thuds glass starters to break the baby starters to scream and cry as more glass falls more into the car. I noticed the car hit the top of the corner on the highway so loud it was like a big lightning strike it made my ears ring. Jaylaya car seat started to come towards me as the car started to flip after hitting the top corner on the highway. I'm trying to push the seat back without getting crushed.
The airbags popped out in the front with Givion and Rebecca as we landed upside down on the side of the highway on the grass. Rebbeca faces when right into the airbag. Nobody was moving. I looked up and noticed the car door to the left of me was off and Jaylaya was still on. I climbed with all my strength holding the top thing in the back of the car to get out. I climbed out of the corner of my eye and I saw Givion lookin at me. I got out and a lady was right there and she grabbed and hugged me
“Are you okay?” the lady says to me as more people come to the crash scene I start to hear ambulance and firefighter sirens closer and closer as they pull up. The lady said
“It's glass in your hair” she takes some of it out. Givion and Rebecca and Jaylaya were getting help, Jaylaya had a black scratch close to her eye from the glass that broke from the windows. Givion was getting shushed into the ambulance because of his brown arm he must've hit it on the steering wheel Rebecca had a swollen eye from the air bag coming out so fast. She could barely open her eyes Jaylaya and I sat in the fire truck with a lady until another ambulance. The ambulance eventually came and we got in with Rebecca and headed towards the hospital.
“It's glass in your hair.” I will never forget the words that the lady said to me. This whole situation I have learned that you never know when something tragic could happen to you and how safe you should drive. Anybody could relate to this by them almost being in a car accident before or evening being in a car accident, what I want you readers to gain from this is that you should always wear a seat belt no matter how far you're going somewhere. I am very blessed to be here right now. I would have flown out the car and been dead or had a number of injuries. But I didnt I came out with just glass in my hair. I will always remember that car accident and how I didn't have a seat belt on.
