The Fall of Dawn
Pinks, purples, and oranges.
Color the fading sky.
The sun and moon
On opposing sides.
The wisps of clouds
Like waves in the ocean.
The colors bleed together.
Dripping down, down, down,
Until they fade.
The watercolor being plucked
Out of the heavens,
By the same paintbrush
They were painted by.
The pink
Turns to orange,
To red,
To purple,
To black.
As dusk falls,
A glittering sea of stars is formed.
Sparkling, dancing,
Through the aftermath
Of the fall of dawn.
