A Girls Dream
A girl was told,
“Reach for the stars.”
So she did
But she came up just short,
Yes she was out bid.
And as for her parade?
It hailed,
Her mission?
Had failed,
Under one condition
Her family believed
And she had achieved!?
But it was never enough
You aren't strong!
You aren't tough!
She told herself
But when she looked in a mirror
She realized she was enough
So she rose from the rubble
No she wasn't going down without a fight
Yet try as she might,
She could never take flight.
“Go home”
She was told
“Don't be so bold”
But still she rose!
No one was there to apose
Suddenly there was something stopping her
She couldn’t move on
Slowly the truth began to dawn
Never would she,
Beat him,his,or he,
in the eyes of society
And this because,
As bold as she was,
She had dared to dream
