Rubber Ball
With every new issue I face it brings me to the ground harder and harder each time
But like a rubber ball being thrown to the ground always makes me bounce back
I’m like a rubber ball, when I’m thrown
I bounce back.
I always find a way to get through my problems
I’m like a rubber ball, constantly played with but not anyone's favorite toy
Constantly kept around for the benefit of others then lost under the stove
Like a rubber ball people are always so quick to throw me out
Always bought for a cheap price I just want to be someone’s favorite
But like a rubber ball, I’ll always bounce back.
When my heart is broken to bits I’ll be thrown to the ground crashing against
the earth
only to find I’ve bounced back in no time.
Like a rubber ball there’s always the rise and the fall.
I wish I could deal with my problems better, self sabotage will be my downfall.
Nobody’s first choice, that bad prize you get from teachers' prize chests.
Yo-yos, notepads, and sunglasses are picked far ahead of me, the rubber ball.
I’m the bottom of the barrel, if people would take a second to see how much I’m worth they’d see that I am not just a rubber ball, they’d see
I’m a good friend,
a good significant other too.
They’d see I’m worth keeping around,
they’d see all that I have to offer to the world.
Alas in the eyes of others I’ll always be a rubber ball,
maybe they’re right.
