Today is not the day that I give up.

Not because mitosis persists that I exist,

but because today is the day that I choose to laugh out loud.

Today is the day that I put my neocortex to rest and stop thinking about others judgements of my character.

Today, I let myself feel love, care and happiness for the smallest reasons.

I appreciate the beauty of the moths and insects that creep in the fields.

I fall in love with the smell of freshly cut grass.

And most of all, I fall in love with my perks, my flaws and my failures.

Today is the day that I chose to be alive
