Lost to Fear
I watch you give into that distress.
See as you let doubt take root in your soul.
Stained by the angst of what once happened you now tread with trepidation,
With fear of the unknown,
Or instead of what might repeat,
What you may perhaps regret.
I tell you to stand,
To stop caring,
To let go of that unease you let control your mind,
Your body,
Control your time ahead.
You can’t.
So you pivot,
And pivot,
And pivot,
And pivot again.
But you are going nowhere.
Instead you are just hurting me,
Tearing,
Ripping my poor soul to lifeless pieces.
And as they fall to the ground crumbling,
And as I stand watching,
You throw away everything you could have had,
The life.
The Dream.
And I dreamt with you,
For you.
But now look at what you have done,
All that you have given up in the name of fear.
Now you tell me that you have a plan,
You say you preparing,
Doing all that you intended.
But you are simply lying to yourself,
Webbing yourself in a cage of deceit so thick you no longer see the outside world,
The one you used to stand in,
To stand for.
You are hiding.
You are stuck,
You are lost,
And it is the fear that is keeping you locked up,
Keeping you hidden from the world.
Destroying the Dream.

It is valuable to remember that sometimes, or even most times, fear is our worst enemy. We must never let it blindside us or change the way we feel and think or, maybe worst of all, let it take away our dreams.
