Forget-
Forget the feeling of knowing one’s self,
Forget the feeling of your throat closing,
Forget the feeling of tears falling from your face,
Forget everything you once feared.
Experience-
Experience the sight in front of you,
Experience the sun aligning with the water,
Experience the cool breeze passing by you,
Experience the taste of the salty air,
Experience the sounds of water rushing up to land, the sounds of birds chirping,
Aftermath-
The aftermath makes my skin crawl,
The aftermath opens my eyes,
The aftermath is troubling me,
The aftermath chokes me,
The aftermath scares me,
The aftermath exhaust me,
Realize-
Realize you can’t stop it,
Realize you can’t break it,
Realize you can’t let the fear overwhelm you
Realize you can’t scare away your fears,
Realize you created the monsters,
Realize you change the narrative
Realize I’m the cause of the forgetting, the experience, the aftermath, the realization.
I’m the monster,
I’m the exhaustion,
I’m the cool breeze,
I’m the tears,
I’M the fear.
