love songs never taught me how to love
it's funny, isn't it?
it never taught me how to get lost in your eyes, those sparkling, expressive eyes
filled with excitement and passion whenever you told me about how much you adored that boy group you listen to
who were they again? it's all blurry to me now
love songs never taught me how to love
it never taught me how to listen intently to anything you say
stories, questions, rants, or even a corny joke—it's all the same to me
words that spilled from those velvety lips of yours
it is something i will never get tired of hearing and will probably keep entertaining, if you would even let me
love songs never taught me how to love
it never taught me how to calm my beating heart whenever we touched
a brush of a hand, a playful elbow hit on the side, a pat on the head
am i selfish to yearn for your caress every single time?
love songs never taught me how to love
it's funny, isn't it?
but it did teach me one thing: it can bring me back to the past
the past in which we were still happy with how things were, in which i haven't screwed things up yet
a simple song of affection and adoration made me feel a lot worse than i expected
because in between those lines, all i see is a bright future with you that is now long buried beneath the sands of time and regret
