The gleaming blade staring,

Watching,

Determining my worth,

Testing to see if I was honorable,

Only to see that I was not ready,

That I would never be ready,

I ignored the words,

I had the nerve to decide I was worthy,

And so I pretended,

I ignored the twinge of guilt,

A ghost there to taunt me,

But it was faint,

So I pretended as if it never existed,

That it was never there to begin with,

A crown placed on my head,

I pretended the guilt was not eating me alive,

The world spins,

An attempt to convince me to open my eyes,

A sudden attempt,

But little did it know,

My eyes were wide open.
