Bridge
A tunnel runs near the health food store
The view from the airplane seems spotless
A worn coat of moth and mold
Stretches as it encroaches more
Upon the light it cannot have
And has been swiftly snuffed
The tunnel near the health food store
is clear or a while
But rot runs deep and its roots
carry the soil
The health food store has a second floor
As the mold grows new spores
A quick pass of favored gas
will vanquish a score and fold
those coats back to the underpass
As they are swallowed once more.

It was inspired by a bridge I pass by on the way to school that is routinely cleared of homeless people, but never stays that way for long.
