Sleep Paralysis
In the middle of the night, everything is still
I am jolted awake, my body is frozen, yet my eyes scanning the
As I lay unable to move, I begin to panic
I feel trapped, claustrophobic
I see something move from the corner of my view
A terrifying creature; pale white, smooth and slender, eel like, with dark, malevolent eyes
I try to escape, run from the monster, like a bag of rocks
I lay there, vulnerable, panicking, as his face merley inches away from mine
I call out for help, but noise can’t escape from my mouth, lips glued together
I try to move my petrified arm, struggle to lift my leg, do anything to get away
He comes closer and closer, tauntingly
Then I finally feel movement in my arm
I have broken free from the grasp of the monster, breathing laborious breaths
I slowly lay back down, relieved that the waking nightmare is over
Then I jolt awake again, my body frozen
