Mind and Body
I long for you
Your loose curls
Your sympathetic sky eyes
Your strawberry colored face
Your soft, rose lips
I daydream of you
Of your hands
Decorated with rings that collide with mine,
While we blend our bodies into one
I fantasize about you
As your name escapes past my teeth
Articulated in a soft whisper,
It feels new and pliable
Like a comforting blanket,
Fresh from the dryer.
I wish I could have you
Through the rough waves of the ocean,
And as the sun rises in great vibrance
I want to know the ins and outs
Of your brain.
Of your body.
I want to know why your eye twitches
I want to know why your hands fidget
I want to know why your voice climbs Mount Everest
When someone mentions me.
I spend my minutes
Wondering of what we could become
As dark as the midnight sky that highlights the stars
Or loud and bright,
Like yellow sunflower fields on a warm summer evening
I bathe in the shadows of your presence,
Longing for you to soap yourself in me.
