Blossom
if it’s a dream, then i don’t want to wake up.
hey, let me stay like this forever with you.
days and nights spent doing nothing but talking about worthless things.
it might mean nothing to you, but it’s everything to me.
if it’s just fictional, i’ll dive into it until death.
i want to write this story with just you and i.
i don’t want or need anyone else for this one to be complete.
it’ll just be a story to everyone, but to me it means everything.
if it’s all fake, then i’ll be fake too.
reality’s painful, after all.
who would want to face a world so dreary?
it might be fake to you, but it’s everything to me.
if it’s all a lie, then let me be your liar.
that’s all love usually is, isn’t it?
i’ll face this lie like it’s nothing more than a truth.
when you tell me you love me it’s everything to me.
if it’s temporary, then i’ll cherish it.
this time means everything to me.
it’s so fast and fleeting like cherry blossoms in spring.
you’re everything to me.

This piece is very personal to me, as it’s the first time I’ve written something that could be considered a “love poem.” I’ve loved the recipient of this poem for quite some time, and I feel as though publishing this poem for everyone else to see adds more to the feelings behind it.
