Goodbye
To say goodbye means so little.
As those two syllables escape your lips, they pass through my ears
Yet, they do not tell me of the future to come
That word is a deceitful one.
Goodbye is such a permanent word that we use
But, this time you meant it.
I do not know when I will see you again.
I do not know if I will see you again.
We are trapped in our safe havens
Wanting to leave, but nowhere to go.
I wish that you used a different word in our parting
Maybe our fate was determined by your farewell.
I really do hope to see you again!
Why did you have to say goodbye?
It is a meaningless word with indefinite intentions.
To say goodbye means so little.
Goodbye is a word used so often. There are cases in our life where we don’t know when our last goodbye will truly be our last.
