The Couple on the titanic
Too soon-
We wanted more time,
But the clock was ticking,
And the ending yet will never change.
But darlin’ everything is still when you’re next to me,
I could never be happier in anyone else's company.
As the water surrounds us,
Your eyes meet mine.
But this time they greet me with goodbye.
Although it’s so romantic on the borderline,
As we complete our stories with each other.
I know there ain’t much time before we’re gone.
But as for now,
I enjoy you in the silence of others' hopeless screams.
“Forgive my urgency,
But hurry up and take us”,
I curse at the water.
I feel something delicate brush my cheek,
A salty tear.
Come now dear,
Cryin’ isn’t like you.
You looked at me without reply,
And I didn’t ask you why.
As your sparkling eyes slowly grow faded,
My once tender heart becomes jaded.
“Take my hand”
The last words I heard.
Soon I was sure,
We weren’t far away from home.
Ironic,
It’s now within your cold arms that bring that lonely feeling.
I clench your hand harder,
I have no more but what’s left of you.
It’s then I wished to never be alone again,
My final wish…
Was slowly granted.
