P.O.V of myself in the 5th Grade ✬✬✬
The musty air coming through the windows of the bus are suffocating, the sounds of the other students I don’t hear, blocked out with the sound coming from my headphones.
I sit in the back of the bus, my friends probably at home relaxing already left at their stops.
Finally, my stop comes, and I am to make my journey home through this heat, sweating as I walk and my breaths getting more and more short.
As I walk, I cannot help but feel a sort of unease, I wouldn’t say I am overly anxious at my age, but it always feels as though I am being watched when I walk home.
The baren streets not helping in my suspicions.
I make it home safely anyways, physically at least.
As I walk though the door I am greeted by both hot and cold.
A literal cold air hits my face from the Air Conditioning, that, and the hot atmosphere from arguments in the house make being outside in the sweltering heat seem like paradise.
Arguments I am slowly getting used to and quickly becoming better at tuning out.
Entering my room, I notice it hasn’t changed since I woke up in the morning.
I place my bag on the floor, prepared to ignore it until last minute.
Instead opting for my hand-me-down computer to be chronically online.
