my mother’s favorite strawberry
lemonade, a sip of it hit
your fragile, broken-hearted
lips. I handed you a cup of my
mother’s favored lemonade,
brewed with my sweet, sugary
spice of everything you tasted
that very, strawberry pink skied night.
