We exist here
But for what, they asked
Towards the end, loss and death only near
To rid us of all that we have amassed.

To that I said, it’s not always wise to see the bigger picture
It’s the moments we’re in that matter
For it is impossible to avoid the life-death conjecture
But a sea of possibilities still lie before the platter.

Why all that for nothing though, they replied
In the end, we are all going to die
Moments are not valuable in our life
We struggle to see the meaning behind the strife.

With light-hearted laughter, one more time I replied
Perhaps moments are not valuable in our lives
But they make it more priceless than jewels
By the passion and love it nostalgically fuels.

Whether you hear it or not, the bell of death
Be it closer or farther than your death bed
Live it to the fullest, a wise man once said
Not because you have one shot at it or not
Nobody knows that for sure
But because the peace and happiness we all seek
Can be found in an espresso on the dawn of a fresh week
The scenery of the rising yellow horizon
And receiving the beckon of the golden sun
Looking out ahead for a better start, filled with passion and fun!

The author's comments:

I am a student, I study in grade 9 in Dubai, and come from Nepal. I love writing poems about anything that comes to  my mind and I enjoy the articulation process of making them into a poem. I have written a couple of other poems too, which I will post one after the other. On a side note, I also have been working on a small science fiction, which I will be publishing as soon as it's complete.
