Feeling Blue
Blue is the caress of playful summer wind against your cheek,
The acidic taste of chlorine pricking your tongue,
Or the sharpness of sea salt in the presence of the coast.
Blue is the reverberation of thunder through your bones
And the chilling cold of rain running down your back.
Blue is the effortless crystalline elegance of snowflakes,
And the hollowness of an empty winter night alone.
Blue is the sorrow of an ending and the brightness of a beginning.
Blue is the rage of a tumultuous sea and the calm of a placid lake.
Feeling blue is not so simple.

This poem is about the duality of color and also of humanity. Blue can be a neutral, rageful, or peaceful color, just as any person can find themselves consumed by any emotion.
