Out of Gas
My family and I had decided to go on a road trip far away from everyone and anything. Going on this road trip meant having more time to come together as a family and being able to escape reality and the virus for some time.
Once we had our stuff packed in the trunk it would finally be time to leave the city. Leaving the city felt extraordinary, having this feeling almost as if it were to be a fresh start. On the way to the middle of nowhere was a whole war on its own, 5 people stuffed all in one small car wasn't the brightest idea my parents had come up with. After being in the car for almost 5 hours and not being able to see at least 1 car around us during that same time, you could say we slowly started going crazy. However, my siblings and I had been planning out everything that we would do as soon as we got to the spot, first, we would set up camp and all our tents, second, we would play a game of three on three football with the whole family, and once it was night time we would roast marshmallows and make smores around the campfire. When we had finally made it to our destination, every one of us was surprised, we had thought we would be staying in the woods near a river, turns out our dad had different plans. We were in the middle of nowhere and we were going to stay right next to an abandoned gas station, although we hated it our parents seemed to be having a good time so we just went along with it. It was getting dark and we had finally completed all our activities, we were roasting marshmallows at last. Although we had mixed emotions about this trip, looking up at the night sky and being able to stargaze with your family right next to you is a blessing no matter what.
