Who am I not?
Who Am I?
Am I a man?
I do not enjoy sitting down and watching men with heavy pads crash against each other,
Jumping up and cheering as a little number in the corner of the screen goes up.
Am I a man?
I do not like romantic movies where the guy always wins the girl.
Am I a woman?
I don't want to be stuck at home cleaning the house and cooking dinner.
Am I a woman?
I do not need someone to take care of me.
Am I a man?
Who can go anywhere carefree and not worry about who is around the corner
I am a woman?
Who can never walk alone when the bright moon shines above me and not think of how my vision is vanishing and cannot look out for people lurking in the deep shadows.
So,
I am a woman?
Am I a man?
Am I Eve? Who was tricked by the snake in the apple tree
Or
Am I Adam? Who got tricked by his wife.
Does it really matter though?
What if a woman likes to watch football?
What if a man wants to sit down and put on a romcom?
Humans do not have to fit into stereotypes that society has created, instead decide who they are and what their interest is, not matter if its
Masculine,
Feminine,
Or anything in between
So who am I?
I am,
Emma Sato,
A highschool student who is writing a poem on gender stereotypes.
