Wheeling, Illinois
I love the warm fall days
you can see joyful dogs
and orange autumn leaves
and hear the whimsical excitement of local kids
and smell the radiant spices of Mexican cookouts all around
all just at the front of your doorstep.
Even the nights feel alive
Banda music blasting from houses near by
soft yet loud whooshes off cars passing by
to the annoying bark of dogs.
The best feeling is the bike
speeding through the pavement
cutting through grass like a blade through paper
warm yet cool due to a breeze on a hot day.
Kept warm by nature’s blanket.

Just writing about how I perceive my hometown when biking.
