The Wind Doesn’t Howl, It Cries
Everyone thinks they know what the wind sounds like.
They think it howls and beats on windows and walls.
Most people find the wind annoying.
But maybe people should listen a bit closer to the wind
Maybe then they would find the wind doesn’t howl, it cries.
Maybe it cries for those who kill themselves every 40 seconds around the world.
Maybe it beats on the windows and walls as a woman
Who beats on the door of her elderly neighbors house because a man she doesn’t know is following her home
Maybe then people would find the wind less
annoying
And maybe then people would not yell at the wind to
shut up and sit down
Because nobody wants to hear it howl.
They don’t realize
The wind only wants to be heard.
