Do you hear me?
At night I whisper into the dark
All my problems that keep my mind alert
I hold in a tear, toss, and turn
Hoping soon I can disembark
Such a dismal and lonely place
Where the only thing listening is
empty space
I long for an ear or even an embrace
A voice that says, “I am here, you are heard.”
While I fall into slumber, a state of peace,
I wish for all this silent suffering to somehow cease.
