Losing yourself
The darkness thickens
The pain grows stronger and stronger
suffocating in your thoughts
As you drown in your own tears.
The feeling of your body shutting down
the tingling in your body pulsing
your heart pounding so hard you hear it
your mind telling you to shut down
As your body tries to fight it
Your eyesight becoming blurry from the tears
Your body starts to give out from all the pain
Your breaths starting to slow
As your eyes close and you're gone...
Gone into the world we all feel the safest
Gone into the deepest sleep that throws the real world away
Gone into the sleep that keeps you from feeling anything
I suppose that is why we all envy sleep so much
Sleep is an escape from the real world
When you wake you realize you're not you anymore
The pain has beaten you down and torn you apart
In the end, you have found yourself lost
You find yourself looking in the mirror
unable to recognize who you're looking at
You've lost yourself
As I have lost myself
As we all soon lose ourselves.
