A WONDROUS WISH
[When I go down by the sandy shore
I can think of nothing I want more
Than to live by the booming blue sea
As the seagulls flutter round about me]
The sun strikes my face and body
The water shimmers as it looks full of glitter
The fish and animals are thriving beneath
Yet I see none this close to the shore
The memories I will make fill my head
Just being able to grow old surrounded by beauty
The birds chirping every morning
Family visiting every weekend
I can hear laughter fill the air
Seeing beautiful colors days and night
Oh the happiness that would fill me everyday
But then I remember that it is just a wish
How I know that I live in frigid Michigan
Where it snows in March
And the colors are gray
But for now I can imagine
[I can think of nothing I want more
Than to live by the booming sea]
