a vipers victory
3) a vipers victory
his dulcet voice, one of a serpent.
as sweet as honeysuckle, yet dripping with poison.
a raspy rattle sounds as a warning,
signalling nothing but blood-red danger;
still all i feel is intoxicated as the searing beads of venom hit my skin.
fully persuaded by his charm i lean further in, until his smoky breath coils around my soul.
and i give in.
i can feel him sinking his fangs in deep, deeper yet into my heart.
it skips a beat,
then two,
three,
and then i am his.
every bone, muscle, neuron screaming to turn back, walk away, soothed.
i give myself away once again, the exchange shrouded in secrecy.
any inclination to run dies with a dull scream as i find myself tumbling through anxious unknowns.
but one snake-like simper and my nerves fill with a drugged delight.
turning the nightmarish fall through wonderland, into a fairytale.
