I Wish
I wish I could stop thinking of you
That I could wake up one day and not have any images of your face invading my head
That one day your presence wouldn’t strike me while reading poems
That one day I will be able to hug and hold you without my heart aching
One day, I wish, I will be able to take a picture of my world and not want to share it with you
I wish, my love, that this bittersweetness will finally be over

I wrote this poem about someone who is more than a friend to me yet less than a lover. It’s a wish to not be stuck with these longing emotions so I can simply enjoy their friendship and not wish for more.
