Lovely Lipgloss
Love is a tube of lipgloss
When your pride and self esteem is cracked and blistered, it smooths out those insecurities When you feel bare and insignificant, that you’re dull with no sparkle, lip gloss makes you pop; it makes you radiant
Lipgloss is sweet, giving you a bit of flavor in your life
You get to choose that flavor, everyone has the right to do so
But like all things good in the world, you must use lipgloss in moderation
Too little leaves you unguarded to the cold airs and dry despairs of the world
Leaving you to lick your wounds when you crack and bleed
Too much creates a mess that can be difficult to control
When you try to backtrack, to fall back into balance, you may wipe it away altogether
However, when you need it most, it’s always there
Wherever it’s stored, it’s an arms length away
Regardless of what condition you’re in, you can always reapply

After a previous poem I submitted as sort of a joke was actually posted, I decided to submit a more serious and sweet poem that I also wrote in class.
