Darling Clementine
The bright glistening color puts you in a trance
It is tiny
Its spherical shape makes you want to play with it
The tip so pointy, it makes you want to rub it
The texture is like no other
Its plump surface makes me want to squeeze it
Its supple yet gentle surface keeps me from tearing it
The texture is that of a grapefruit
The sound of flesh resisting my grip as
it is being pulled apart send chills down my spine
It is now separated from the shell leaving the body exposed
The deed is done
The smell brings me back to the day when
it first found me in town
It’s a refreshing smell that you can’t get tired of
The smell is like no other
The juices overflow in my mouth
Its savory flavor begs me to come back for more
It is now the flavor of memories of someone I once held dear
The taste is now gone and the memories stop.
