The Dream
It was the middle of summer
Time for the family to gather
The best time of the year to meet with my uncle
He was a first-class general with the army
He was in the Vietnam war he
Was severely injured
When he got back he got a very big settlement
After that big check came a new truck
Just rolled off the assembly line in Detroit
But a few weeks after he got it
It was destroyed
Thieves broke in and stole it
He tried to come up with everything to replace it
But since it wasn’t insured
Nothing could be done
He begged and pleaded to the insurance company
So out of pity, they gave him a cotton candy mobile
My family thought how weird
Maybe it is the chemicals used in a war
Or maybe it was the pure shock from being in the war
It was most certainly made of cotton candy
But it was all a dream
